we found our way over to there this evening - didn't know they had "hours" so we didn't get to explore at all.

I'm still only seeing 1 or 2 hummers and that's with 4 feeders!  Geez, I think I live in the WRONG PLACE! Huh

I may not be able to ID the hawk, but I ID'd its perch----- a child's swingset!

LOL, yep and my kids have so outgrown it!  We need to get it out of the yard but dunno if we have to have it carried off or just put it out on the curb.

Nice shot of it.  I'm going to go with Rustic sphinx moth, Manduca rustica.

You can check out photos of the Rustic sphinx moth at http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species?l=3365 and http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/Files/Live/Species/7000/7778.shtml.  They have a wing span of 3 7/16 - 5 15/16 inches - you said it was big!  Okay, you said it was huge!

I know zero about moths but this one should be called the Tree Bark Moth. It's huge.

Pretty cool sightings!  I have some friends in San Antonio that reported seeing Orioles here this morning.
