When the family and I went to the State Fair this year we stopped by the Birds of the World exhibit twice.  It's a great show by an organization dedicated to helping birds and their environment.

Leucistic red tailed hawk

This African Fish Eagle is said to be the oldest alive.  She is 48 years young.  They usually only live half that if lucky in the wild.

What gorgeous birds and beautiful shots of them all.  That owl doesn't look real.  Are all of these birds rehabbed and do you know the story behind them?  I think I would faint if I saw the red-tailed in the wild.  What a looker!

Awesome birds!!  I also think the Redtail is a beauty. My jaw would hit the ground if I saw one in the wild.

The plumage on the Owl is very striking along with the eyes. It would take me a while to get used to them though.

Not to leave out the Fish Eagle as it looks like a powerful bird and also has pretty plumage.  Nice job, Stephen and thanks for posting these.

Very nice shots of these gorgeous birds! I try to go to the State Fair each year and the Birds of the World is my favorite place. Did you see the birds perform as well? There are so highly trained birds that that do amazing things. Like one person in the audience will hold up a $20 bill and the bird will fly from the stage, grab the bill and give it to the trainer. Then, for an encore, deliver it back to the original person!

Gus, I noticed it took you 10 months to reply to that post.  Now I know why you're so backlogged on working up your pictures Grin Grin Grin
